The Kingship Continental Hotel was established in 1979 by Mr. Lin Wen-yi, and then passed to his oldest son, Frank Fu-nan Lin to manage all the business in 1990. The hotel was located in the prosperous Yancheng district, very near Tzaishan Mt. and Love River, containing 219 rooms and 6 wedding plaza which are popular among tourists and Kaohsiung citizens; The hotel and hotel staff had won many prizes for the qualified and excellent service from Tourism Bureau, MOTC, from time to time. The related enterprises including Swan Lake Villa Resort Hotel at kenting and some other companies in Taiwan and Asia.
After 2000, Taiwan government promoted the attendance of private enterprises to manage the public properties. Kingship hotel won the public screen and selection for the management of the British Consulate building, the ROT case held by Kaohsiung city government in 2004. After vigorous effort, the British Consulate at Takao became a very popular scenery site for tourists inland and aboard, and it was estimated that more than 400,000 times of visits had been contributed to the British Consulate. The achievement allowed the hotel group to establish the non-profit foundation, the Cultural Resources Development Association, and help the operation of Taiwan National Oil Painting Competition since 2004 annually. From the Competition, hundreds of excellent works of oil paintings are corrected and exhibited in the Consulate and other enterprise buildings, and also shown at the Consulate website, www.khhuk.org.tw.
In 2005, the Consulate received the first prize of Yuan-yeh Award in city landscape, which is the highest honor of the architecture in Taiwan. The Consulate was marked by the Executive Yen as one of the most successful models of renovation and management of historic sites in Taiwan.
The next year, the “Kingship Group” was commissioned to manage the biggest Confucious Temple in Taiwan, the Kaohsiung Confucious Temple. The Temple is located next to the Lotus Lake, to be built based on the official regulations of Ming and Sung dynasty. It is an excellent place to enjoy the sent of lotus from the lake and the elegance of Chinese tea, with traditional food, Confucious House set meal and also the modified “coffee and cake ” of mixed style.
The Kingship Continental Hotel Group has contributed varies resources to develop tourism, finance, culture and arts, etc in Kaohsiung and Taiwan. The aim is to enlighten the spirits of historic relic, including the building and the surrounding landscape, to establish the qualified international tourist spots supplied with gourmet combined with tradition and modern style.
